More than
bags given since 2019
Bags of Hope is a simple idea to bless Manchester, Salford and beyond, bringing hope in unexpected places and helping to make a practical difference in someone’s life. You and those you know can bring hope to people experiencing brokenness or poverty in these five different areas:
Asylum seekers
Vulnerable women
Those experiencing homelessness
Deprived local communities
Sponsor any amount through our service provider, either as a regular of one off give. As a guide, one Bag of Hope costs around £12.
Alternatively, collect items from the following shopping list, and kindly bring it to Saint Philips Chapel Street, where it will be passed on to those in need who we work with personally, or through our partner charities.
If you know an individual in need, or an organisation that would like to receive our bags, contact us through the following methods.
“When you’re down and you’ve not got much it cheers you up when you get a nice deodorant; cause not a lot of people have time for people that are homeless or working on the street so it was nice that people actually cared.”

"To be honest St Phillips food bank is the only one I use this is because the team shows so much care, love and compassion that our women feel so special.
Myself and 2 of my women would have been lost when they were moving in, the ACTS which were given were gratefully received. Defiantly took some of the stresses away for them and for me, the anxiety of moving for everyone is huge but for women with complex needs its very overwhelming."
